After four years of teaching, Jim began devoting himself full-time to glass. His glass blowing is primarily self taught through a process of trial and error. He focuses primarily on contemporary organic forms influenced by Japanese craft and the American studio glass movement.
Jim creates his glass rondelles on a propane/oxygen-mix torch. Colored borosilicate glass rods or powder melted directly into clear glass tubing colors the glass. Forms are blown and sculpted in the flame and then annealed in a kiln.
His studio is in north Philadelphia in the old Atlas Building.
Below are just a few of Jim's pieces we carry.
